Dear Diary,

The adrenaline was pumping full throttle through my body.  I felt like I had drunk sixty Red Bulls back to back and took an entire bottle of No Doze.  I was wired.  I could feel my eyes widened, shining bright like the high beams on a 2007 Bentley.  My heart was pumping just as quickly as the bass blaring out of the speakers.  I began to walk over to him with the hardest Naomi Campbell walk on record.  His credit card and bankcard were in my hand.

Justin was swaying to the beat with his eyes closed when I reached him.  He must have felt my presence because he opened his eyes.  I flicked both of the cards at his face.  I could see out the corner of my eye that the cards separated in the air and hit him just below his left eye.  He touched his face and looked at me like as if I was insane. I continued my Naomi Campbell stomp.  Before I could make the third step past him I felt his hand gripping the upper part of my right arm hard.

“ARE YOU CRAZY JADE”, Justin shouted in my ear, “YOU HIT ME. NOW GO AND PICK THOSE CARDS UP AND HAND THEM TO ME.”

I screamed back, “HELL TO THE NO!”  I started to walk.  He gripped me tighter.

“OH NO,” he yelled as he shook my arm, his eyes were bulging out of the sockets, “YOU’RE GONNA PICK THEM UP!”

“YOU DEAF OR IS THE MUSIC TOO LOUD”, I hollered back as I pulled my arm from his grasp, “DIDN’T I SAY NO!”

“SO YOU’RE GONNA BE DISRESPECTFUL?  COOL.  WATCH AND SEE WHAT I DO TO YOUR STUFF.”

“OH SO NOW YOU PLAN ON DOING SOMETHING TO MY THINGS JUSTIN?  I WILL PICK UP YOUR CARDS WHEN YOU GIVE ME MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER’S JEWELRY BACK.”

Justin gave me a look of complete shock as if he was thinking to himself, “How did she find out?”  His mind must have drawn a blank, the only response he could come up with was, “WHAT?”

“YOU HEARD ME…I WANT MY JEWELRY BACK.  NOW GET OUT OF MY FACE.”

I walked away from him and joined Katrina and Ty on the other side of the club.

“ARE YOU, OK”, Katrina asked.  She tried her best to scream over the music, but her voice is soft.  The strobe lights provided enough light so I could read her lips.

“I’M FINE”, I replied, “I JUST TOLD THAT SCUMBAG TO GIVE ME MY JEWELRY BACK.”

Ty grabbed my hand and we started to dance.  Katrina started to dance with us.  Although I appeared to be enjoying the music my blood was still stewing.

Time stands still in a club.  A DJ blends one song into the other and suddenly you’re lost in the music.  You don’t know how long you have been there or what time it is.  When I’m in there I feel like I’m in musical capsule and the world is passing me by, but it is okay, when I ready to join civilization I do.  I had no clue how much time lapsed since the slight argument we had when I noticed Justin lurking around where we were dancing.  I told Katrina and Ty we should move.  We headed toward the back and kept on dancing.  Once again Justin was lurking around us.  I knew something was up.  Just to make him jealous I pulled out all my stripper moves and worked Ty like he was a pole. Justin watched for a moment, cracked a half smile, and then disappeared.  My eyes scanned the entire dance floor.  I didn’t see him.

My blood was still simmering, but I decided to try to let the music invade my body and put me in a zone.  Every once in a while I would look for Justin.  He wasn’t around.  I went downstairs to see if he was at the bar.  He was not.  I went back upstairs and joined Tyriq and Katrina.  Once again the music and multi-colored strobe lights placed time in a trance.  I had no recollection of the time that had passed when Justin appeared in my face again.  This time he looked scared as if he saw a tidal wave coming and knew he didn’t have enough time to run before he was engulfed in it.  He moved in closed to me and asked, “Can I talk to you for a minute outside?”

“For what”, I replied, “There is nothing left to say.”

“Please.  I’m not worth even a minute of your time.”  The look in Justin’s eyes was of a man that was worried for his life.  I looked at him wondering what spawned the change in his attitude.

I looked past him for a minute and stared at the DJ booth.  Maybe I should entertain his conversation.  Then another thought hit me.  Maybe he was taking me outside to tell me something I really didn’t want to know.

“Send me a text message,” I said as I rolled my eyes.

“Jade please.”

I felt my pressure starting to rise.  “LOOK,” I screamed, “I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING THAT YOU HAVE TO SAY.  YOU ARE A TREACHEROUS BASTARD AND I DON’T DEAL WITH YOUR KIND.  YOU ARE DEAD TO ME.”

I placed my hands on my head and walked away gritting my teeth.  Katrina and Ty came over.  Katrina hugged me.  I shook my head.  As soon as Katrina released me Justin was in my face again.

“Jade,” Justin said standing in my face.  His body was placed in a stance that blocked my path. At this point I thought Tyriq would step in for sure, but he didn’t he looked on in silence.

“WHAT?  I DON’T WANT TO TALK TO YOU.”

I turned to look away and noticed Michelle sneaking up the stairs.  She slithered her way to the other side of the club. My heart began to pump at four hundred beats per minute.  My eyes zeroed in on her neck.  She was wearing my great grandmother’s necklace.  I focused on her ears.  She was wearing my great grandmother’s earrings.  My eyes turned to Justin and stared at him like the laser beam of a rifle pinpointing its target.  I was about to blow.  Finally I realized why there was a look of terror frozen in Justin’s eyes.

“YOU LET THAT HARLOT WEAR MY JEWELRY” I shrieked like a banshee on the loose, “I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU. GO GET MY JEWELRY. GET IT NOW.”

“Jade.  You used my card without my permission.”

“WHAT”, I barked, “WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THOSE CARDS WERE JUST AS MUCH MINE AS THEY WERE YOURS.  I DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THOSE CARDS…THAT JEWELRY IS PART OF MY FAMILY’S HISTORY.”

I used all my strength to brush past Justin.  I flipped him the bird with both hands and walked downstairs to the bar.  No one was downstairs, not even the bartender.  It was a virtual no man’s land.  Katrina followed me downstairs.

“What happened,” she asked.

“That heifer is here”, I said, “and she is wearing my jewelry.”

“Whaaaat?  You have got to be kidding me?”

“No I’m not.”

Justin came downstairs and approached me.

“Jade, can I speak to you?  Can we talk like adults?”

“JUSTIN PLEASE…HOW DARE YOU?  HOW DARE YOU GIVE THAT BONEY BITCH MY JEWELRY?  THERE IS NOTHING MORE I NEED TO SAY TO YOU!  I KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO.”

I tried to walk back upstairs.  Justin tried to stop me.  I pushed him into a velvet lounge chair.  Katrina came in between Justin and me.  I bolted upstairs.  I pushed everyone out of my way until I was right in front of Michelle.  I yanked my great grandmother’s necklace off her neck.  I pulled the necklace off with such force that it scratched her neck and broke the clasp. “GIVE ME BACK MY NECKLACE YOU SCRAWNY SLUT, AND THE EARRINGS TOO,” I said to her with the most evil face I have ever made.  She grimaced in pain from the necklace sliding down her neck.  She looked at me like she was ready to kill.  I returned the look.
For a brief moment I felt like I was in a classic kung fu movie showdown and the final fight scene was just about to begin.  She lunged toward me.  I pulled the earrings out from both ears.  Unfortunately they didn’t tear her earlobe because the earrings are clip on.  She scratched me just behind my left ear.  I backhanded her across her face.  Katrina tried to get between us to stop the altercation.

Michelle looked at her with hate in her eyes.  “Trina…you siding with her now”, she said as Katrina tried her best to hold me.

She laughed and said, “Yes I am because you are a low life whore and you always will be.”

Michelle tried to grab at Katrina, but Katrina pushed her off.

Oddly enough neither Justin nor Ty got involved in the girl fight.  They both stood back.  Justin looked horrified and Tyriq kept a look of calm on his face.  I was hoping that he would take the opportunity to strike at Justin, but he didn’t.  He didn’t even take the opportunity to verbally confront Michelle.  Suddenly the club’s bouncers swooped down on us like eagles picking up worms.  The bouncer’s tight restraint on me only made me fight harder to get to Michelle.  The bouncer squeezed me with both hands like a boa constrictor trying to take the air out of body.  I was still trying to get to Michelle as I tried to ignore the pain shooting into my arms.  Two bouncers dragged Justin and Michelle downstairs.  Three bouncers dragged Katrina, Tyriq, and I towards the exit on the main dance floor.  As I was being forcefully escorted out of the club I noticed that everyone was watching.

After being thrown out the club we took Katrina home.  Katrina and I had a good laugh off of what had happened.  Tyriq was just silent.  After dropping Katrina off, Tyriq and I headed back to his place.  I was still pumped over the events that just happened.  As soon as we hit his door I tore his clothes off and we had the wildest sex ever. It was as if it was going to be the last time for both of us.  Afterwards I lied in bed and watched him sleep.  Suddenly a dark shadow passed over my heart and a question popped into my head.  Why didn’t Tyriq stand up for me?
