Just ask my roommate: to ask me the question, "What's in your closet?" is absurd. The only things that stay in my closet for any length of time are towels, sheets, shoes that are out of season, and clothes I have labeled "fashion pariah,". The real question at hand here is what's not in my closet. The clothing items hanging on chairs, lying on the outskirts of my closet, or my personal favorite, still in the laundry basket, are the only ones that count. I would be embarrassed to show you what's actually in my closet. However, I would be delighted to give you insight on what may be in my laundry basket, or thrown over my chair.
I wish I could tell you that my wardrobe is full of Chanel, Marc Jacobs, and Gucci, but aside from a Chanel purse I spent way too much money on, American Eagle, Old Navy, GAP, Forever 21, and Target are my shopping staples. When you're a broke college kid, brands don't matter. Style is everything.
As for my particular style, I am all about layering tank tops and a cute blazer. I love wearing belts that cinch my waist, and I don't care what they say about it, I'm obsessed with my jean jacket. Right now, I love floral prints and anything with an empire waist. I own a necklace that matches every outfit, close to fifty pairs of panties, I thrive on a good dress or flirt skirt, but most importantly, I am obsessed with high heels!
The thing that I love most about my favorite outfit is its versatility. There are very few outfits that can be worn anywhere, but because of its class and femininity I can wear it to my classes in the morning, to work in the afternoon, and if I haven't spilled something on it by then, to go out to dinner or out with my friends in the evening.
First off, all good outfits start with a hot bra and a sexy pair of panties. It makes you feel beautiful before you even put on your actual clothes. It's like starting your morning with cup of coffee: everything afterward just runs a little smoother. I bought my favorite black bra with white floral embroidery at Target for $19.50 and my favorite key-hole, heart print, cheeky panties are from the Sexy Little Things collection at Victoria's Secret for $12.50.
Next, my dark wash boot cut jeans from GAP for $49.50 and a black and red floral print top for $19.50 from Forever 21. If it's chilly outside, I can just snag my black cardigan from GAP ($38.00). Accessories give it a finishing touch, and this outfit is incomplete without my red high heeled pumps from Charlotte Russe (on sale) for $12.50, a long gold necklace with a black tear-drop shaped stone for $6.80 from Forever 21, and my beloved black and white Chanel bag to finish it off.
The dark wash of the jeans is slimming, the cut is long and straight, perfect for wearing heels, the colors of the shirt bring out the color in my face and the empire waist hides any unwanted bulges. It ties in the back to give an extra feminine appeal, and my red high heels make me feel sassy and confident.
Your favorite outfit is all about how sexy you feel when you are wearing it, and even though I try to feel that way about myself everyday, this outfit really helps me on those off-days. Whether I am feeling like a supermodel, a fat, ugly cow, or just a broke college kid, I know I am gorgeous!
