Ways to Have Some Sober Halloween Fun

By Amanda Cross, Student at the University of Central Arkansas

Halloween is a scary time for most college students -- especially if you're trying to remember exactly what you did on Halloween night! There are plenty of fun things you and your friends can do to be in the Halloween spirit and still be completely sober.

1. Go trick-or-treating
It may sound a little childish, but it is a fun way to spend part of your Halloween night. Adults who live in your college town are more than likely used to it -- and let's be real, who doesn't like free candy? Trick-or-treating is a fun way to get to know the residential part of your college town and score some free goodies along the way.

2. Host or go to a movie marathon
Halloween and scary movies go hand in hand. Grab a few of your best friends, a few bowls of popcorn and a few scary movies to have your own fright fest. If you don’t want to host anything, sometimes movie theaters have special showings of scary movies on or around Halloween that you and your friends can check out.

3. Go to or host a party
Partying isn't always synonymous with drinking. You can go to a party completely sober, hang out with some friends and have a good time. If you don’t want to go to someone’s Halloween party, just throw one of your own -- you’ll probably be a better DJ than the ones at the other parties anyway!

When it comes to having Halloween fun, you don’t always have to follow the pack. You can do a lot of fun things on Halloween without alcohol being involved!
