Ideas for Fall Break Trips
By Kelly Leslie, Student at San Francisco State University
Have you had the chance to wear your favorite boots and scarves yet? I’m sure you have because the leaves are changing colors and fall is finally here! There is nothing better than the brisk air, leaves blowing in the wind, and of course, fall break! What better excuse to grab a quick getaway with some friends or even visit your family? Here are some ideas that are sure to get you excited about planning your own trip.
Take the opportunity to see a friend’s hometown.
Experiencing where they came from and meeting their family is one of the best ways to get to know a college friend better. Plan a few days with your BFF and ask her to show you all of her favorite places. This is the perfect time to bond over some food at that restaurant she always raves about and go shopping at the boutique all of her cute clothes come from.
Road trip!
Is there a cute little town within driving distance of yours that you have been dreaming about visiting? Grab some girls and hop in the car because this is the time to do it! Book a room or two at the local bed and breakfast and enjoy some rest and relaxation. Plan for a couple of nights, that way you have the chance to do both a night in and an exciting girls' night out.
Visit a friend at her school.
Missing your best friend from home? Surprise her at her campus and spend a few days living life the way she does. Take the time to meet her friends, tour her campus and do all of the things that you love to do together. It is always refreshing to meet up with someone from who reminds you of home.
Home is where the heart is.
It’s the only place to go when you need a getaway and are missing your family. Go home, visit with your family, sleep in your old bed and eat all of your favorite home-cooked meals. I love a spontaneous trip, but sometimes nothing sounds better to me than going back to where I’m from!
Happy traveling!
