"They say great first impressions are a must for interviews. You may be a great person or have 4.0, but honestly the first thing that they see is your overall appearance. It lets them know that you take the job and the interview seriously. So how do you show them that you really want it, but at the same time, be as fashionable as possible?"

"It became one of my goals in life to research pro-anorexia groups and find out what these girls are going through. Were they all anorexics? Or were they just trying to “fit in” to this mold?"

If you have siblings, than you’ll definitely connect with me on this one. You know you love them to death. If anyone messes with them, they’re basically messing with you. But there are those times when you're the one who wants to take them down.

When I watched the first part of the Kardashian’s Civil War that was on their reality TV show Sunday night, I wondered who really at fault (click the link to see a quick clip of the showdown).

I don’t know about you girls but I am broke. Maybe it was the couple orders of makeup I decided I could not live without or maybe it was the fact that I’ve been eating out so much. Either way, I’m pretty much down to my last couple dollars. If it wasn’t for my tax refund from my job last summer, I don’t think I would be able to do anything right now.

Let’s get real.

As I write this blog and as I have written it for the past half a year, I always ask myself: Is my audience really getting inspired? Maybe or maybe not.

But I hope that everyone gets inspired at least every once in a while. But what really does hit us deep? So much that it makes us want to dedicate our time to it? For me, sometimes it’s a beautiful painting I see. I look at something and I go straight to my local Michael’s to grab a sketchpad. Sometimes it happens when I see something on the runway and I want to redesign all my “sleep” clothes into something fabulous to wear on the weekend. Or maybe I’ll use all my free time to twist wires and play with tiny beads to create jewelry worthy enough to be deemed works of art.

Who hasn’t had problems with their friends once in a while, right? Well, when it comes to me, I can’t stand it when “drama” comes up between me and a friend or anyone else I’m close with. It wasn’t such a problem when I was in high school because I had one best friend who was a girl and we molded so well with each other that it was never really awkward. Maybe we were distant for a while here and there, but never any big fights. We just understood each other.

Get Inspired: Do We Need Seven More Deadly Sins?

By Hannah Kong - March 18, 2008 - 10:26am | Comment On This Article Comment
7sin.jpg

So, we’ve all heard of the original seven deadly sins: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. We all know it, but it’s not really something that scares us enough to live each and every day through them. Heck, even "America’s Next Top Model" did a photo shoot that glamorizes each sin. But recently, the Vatican announced seven new deadly sins that they stated would correspond to the secular globalization that has come about in recent times.

The Vatican stated that it is not only a deadly sin to be gluttonous or envious, but since science and technology has changed the world so much – it was necessary to add seven more in order to keep up with the changing world. So what are those sins?
