Game of Love: Can Friends Become Lovers?

I usually love Grey's Anatomy, but I really wasn't feeling it when best friends George and Izzie recently hooked up. It seemed...just...wrong!

Besides the fact that George is married, it was also bizarre because there was never an ounce of sexual tension between them before the hook-up. So how come Izzie now thinks she's in love with George?

Then again, maybe this happens more often than I think. Have you ever suddenly developed feelings for a male pal after years of platonic friendship? How did it work out?
